Tiburon Riddim – Labodega Studio

Labodega Studio kept Tiburon Riddim lean in 2013, and that’s part of its charm: just three cuts, all Spanish-language dancehall with King-Der, Manny and Terapia De Choque each taking a turn over the same shark-tough backdrop. Manny’s “Me Viene Pa’ Encima” is the tune that catches the ear first, riding the groove with a clipped, forward-leaning flow while the production keeps the pulse tight and gritty, all low-end pressure and sharp percussion rather than any glossy polish. King-Der goes for the summer anthem angle on “La Canción Del Verano, ” while the title cut from Terapia De Choque leans harder into the menace suggested by the riddim name. The release runs three tracks deep, all issued under Labodega Studio in 2013.
