African Swagga Riddim comes off more like a lean, two-song dancehall set than the fuller Infinity Moguls compilations that followed later, and that tight focus suits the groove. Red Rat’s “Mi Ready Fi Party” is the cut that jumps out first, with his cheeky party-shelling style riding a straight, no-nonsense riddim from Double R, while Pacalle’s “Freak In Me” keeps the same energy and gives the project its playful edge. Double R, also known as Wallace Wilson and better recognized as Red Rat, handles the production and the title cut himself, which ties the whole thing back to one voice and one identity rather than a crowded showcase.
