1980’s Them Say Riddim on Tamoki Wambesi comes out of Roy Cousins’ production work and keeps the set tight with six cuts, led by Don Carlos on Them Say, Jah Stitch with Life In The Ghetto, Ken Parker’s Girl Asheba (Deceiving Girl), and Knowledge on Rasta Don’t Take Bribe. The version side is handled by Dub – Them Say Version, while Barnabas turns in Ear Say Dub, giving the riddim a strong dub presence alongside the vocal tracks. Roy Cousins’ Tamoki Wambesi imprint was responsible for a run of roots releases around this period, and this one is also known as the Girl Asheba riddim, which helps place it in the early-’80s roots catalog.
