1st Klase Records leans into its heavy, futuristic soca sound on Stag Riddim Pt. 2, a six-track set that pairs the riddim with voices from some of Trinidad’s sharpest carnival selectors. Bunji Garlin opens with “Gi Dem Dey, ” while Lyrikal’s “Party Nuh Done” and Olatunji’s “Wha Yuh Drinkin” keep the energy climbing; Jaiga and Shal Marshall link up on “Juice, ” and Swappi closes his side with “Take Wine. ” The production is credited to Klase Gonzales, with mixing by Neel “Fadda” Dwala, and the rhythm carries that grime-tinged, bass-heavy edge 1st Klase was pushing at the time. The set is rounded out by the instrumental version, and it was released in February 2014.
