THE SLU RIDDIM produced by VARIOUS ARTISTS 2007
The Slu Overview
The Slu Riddim came out in 2007 and brought a fresh sound to reggae sessions that year. This riddim came from the Caribbean and quickly became popular in reggae and dancehall parties. The collection features several talented artists, each giving their own style to the music. Alpha performs the track “Tic Toc,” adding smooth vocals and a catchy rhythm. Benjai, known for his hit “Wine to the Side,” brings his energy to “Wine Like Them.” Farmer Nappy, who later released the popular album “You Make Me…Surrender” in 2014, sings “Don’t Move,” showing his strong voice and experience in the soca and reggae scenes. The collection also includes Faye Ann Lyons Feat. Ninja Dan with the song “Pani Douboot.” Faye Ann Lyons is well known for winning the International Soca Monarch title three times. Ninja Dan also appears on the collection with his solo version, “Pani Douboot,” bringing his unique style to the riddim. Iwa’s “Stage” and Zan’s “Super Wine” add more flavor and variety to the album. The producer behind this project is VARIOUS ARTISTS, a label and production team known for bringing together different singers on one riddim. VARIOUS ARTISTS has helped many reggae and dancehall records reach wider audiences. This album collection helped keep reggae’s message strong in 2007, bringing people together through music and dance.
