A lean, hard-edged dancehall cut with just enough room for swagger and warning shots, The Recovery Riddim came through Big League Productions in 2005 with nine tracks and a lineup that tilts toward DJ business more than melody. Beenie Man anchors the set with “Run Back, ” while Vybz Kartel and Cagney’s “Spend Money” pushes the usual money-talk angle, and T. O. K. ’s “Haters” and Ward 21’s “Conquer” keep the energy clipped and combative. Frisco Kid brings a cleaner hook on “True Love, ” but the riddim seems happiest when it’s leaning into the rougher voices, especially Mega Banton and Kanaga’s “No Bwoy We Fear, ” which lands like the sharpest warning on the project.
