Chatt Riddim (2005) – Black Shadow

CHATT RIDDIM produced by BLACK SHADOW 2005

Chatt (2005) Release Details

Spragga Benz does the heavy lifting on Chatt, with “Numero Uno” and “The Pledge” anchoring a 2005 Black Shadow juggling that’s more about sharp hooks and a chunky, rolling bassline than any kind of polish. Kevin Lyttle’s “Jimmy Johnny” pulls a melodic, crossover edge into the mix, while Mad Cobra’s “Switch” and Mr Easy’s “Feel Alright” keep the energy moving through the riddim’s quick, streetwise swing. Rekha’s “Kittie Kat” adds a female counterpoint, and the instrumental gives the beat room to breathe; the track listing even shows the label version was tight enough to travel as a lean seven-cut set. In the middle of the dancehall-heavy mid-2000s, this sits right in that era when Black Shadow was turning out compact, club-ready rhythms built for sound system rotation.
