TERMINATOR RIDDIM produced by STRINGRAY
Terminator Overview
The bashment flow of the Terminator Riddim came together in the studio with a clear vision. The riddim architect wanted to capture the energy of 1997’s dancehall scene. He brought together a driving beat and sharp melodies that would fill dance floors. Behind the boards was producer STRINGRAY, a name known in UK reggae and dancehall. STRINGRAY, part of the Stingray Records label, has worked with many top Jamaican artists and helped bring the UK dancehall sound to international listeners. The artists chosen for this collection were some of the strongest voices of the time. Cutty Ranks, famous for his powerful delivery and the hit “Limb By Limb,” brought his force to “War Broke Out.” His commanding style matched the riddim’s tough edge. General B, known for being part of the Monster Shack Crew, delivered “Run From We” with his usual lively energy. Mad Cobra, who scored a Billboard Hot 100 hit with “Flex” in 1992, added “Hot Gal” to the mix, showing his versatility and appeal. Simpleton, remembered for his 1992 hit “Coca Cola Shape,” contributed “Chigusi,” bringing a playful touch to the collection. This dancehall collection was a staple in 1997’s parties and playlists. Each artist gave the riddim a unique voice, making it a memorable part of dancehall history.
