Tempo Riddim – Fat Bird Recording

Three cuts, three names, and a very clear focus: Fat Bird Recording’s Tempo Riddim keeps the spotlight on a compact selector-friendly set rather than a crowded compilation. Released in February 2015, it was the first Fat Bird outing, with Dub Troubles producing, mixing and mastering the project in Brixton around a digital Tempo rhythm originally tied to the King Tubby era. George Palmer’s “Gunshot” and Kobo’s “Rub A Dub A Weh We Need” carry the vocal side, while Dub Troubles closes the sequence with “Tempo Dub, ” which gives the riddim its final run-out. The track order feels deliberate, moving from two straight songs into the dub version, so the producer’s intent is less about quantity and more about letting the rhythm breathe before stripping it back.
