Storm Trooper Riddim lands as a lean, early-2021 Dancehall set from Downsound Records, with a sharp, street-ready pulse that leaves room for both veterans and newer voices. D’Yani’s “Birthday” and Marcy Chin’s “Lipstick” give it some of the brightest momentum, while Ce’Cile, I-Waata, and Munga Honorable keep the energy swinging through the tougher edges of the pattern; the project was also the label’s first riddim release in five years, produced under the guidance of Kunley “Da Kulprit” McCarthy with Cordell “Skatta” Burrell and Ce’Cile in the mix. The package runs 12 tracks in all, with clean and raw versions of several cuts, plus Harry Toddler’s “Bottles, ” Sliq One’s “Red Label, ” and Youngwildapache’s “Murda” closing out the set.
