Star Dance Riddim – Precision Digital

A few years before Precision Digital went deeper into heavier carnival fare, Star Dance was already pushing a bright, electronic soca cut with a clean 120-BPM pulse and a glossy, festival-ready lift. The project keeps its focus tight: Cherise Ransome’s “Unstoppable, ” Ricardo Drue and Crissanji’s “Free, ” Nikisha’s “Supernova, ” Tian Winter’s “Dancing with the Stars, ” and Fireball’s “Beautiful” all ride the same streamlined groove, with the standout being “Free, ” which gives the riddim a little more tension and vocal push. Ashwin “Smash” Seegobin’s production name doesn’t need much introduction in the Trinidad soca circuit, and here the sound is all sharp synth stabs, clipped drums, and a bassline that stays locked under the melody without crowding it. It’s a compact six-track set, and the steady mid-tempo bounce is what ties it together.
