Standard Drive Riddim – Huntta Flow Production

In 2018, when soca was leaning hard into tighter, road-ready arrangements for the Carnival season, Huntta Flow Production came through with Standard Drive Riddim, a compact five-cut project that keeps the energy moving without crowding the frame. The standout titles tell you the mood right away: Loose Cannon’s “Just for D Cannon, ” Bernie Blaze’s “One Wuk (Big Fat Block), ” and Radikal Voyce’s “Balance” all sit inside a playful, party-first concept. The release also turns up again in a 2020 edition, which suggests this was a riddim with enough pull to get a second life. Sequenced in a straight run from vocal to vocal and ending with Verjal and Brizzydon, it feels designed for DJs to lift cleanly into a set rather than as a loose grab bag of songs.
