Stage Riddim – Chillspot Records

Stage Riddim, released in 2016, is a Zimdancehall dancehall set produced by Chillspot Records and packed with 24 local cuts, showing the label’s knack for pulling together a deep and varied vocal lineup. Blot’s Ndiri Baaad, Hwindi President’s Chidhandari, Boom Betto’s Munodonhedza Musika, Silent Killer’s Type Yemadhanzi, and Soul Jah Love’s Mweya Yerima are among the standout tracks, with singers and deejays sharing the same hard-driving instrumental in a way that gives the project real range. Chillspot Records, the Harare-based outfit founded by Fantan and Levels, was already a major force in Zimbabwe’s dancehall scene by the time this riddim landed, and Stage Riddim became one of the defining releases in its catalogue.
