Nortons Next Generation Riddim – Cymplex Music Zw

In 2021, when ZimDancehall was still pushing out plenty of sharp local riddims, Cymplex Music Zw dropped Norton’s Next Generation with a full 14-track lineup and a strong community feel. The instrumental sits right at the center of it all, but the vocals give the project its shape: MR ONE’s “Game Over” hits with a blunt, no-nonsense edge, while Risky Banton’s “Simba Ramwari” and Nella’s “Ndiwe” lean into the more melodic side of the riddim. Bhomba Mabara’s “Mwari Wangu” and Trezzy Di Future’s “Wakanyanya” keep the energy moving too, with that rough, street-level bounce ZimDancehall was riding hard around that time. It’s the kind of release that catches the scene in motion, with Cymplex Music Zw using one riddim to pull together a whole slice of Norton’s dancehall voice.
