SOUR SOP RIDDIM produced by SMOKESHOP STUDIOZ 2014
Sour Sop Overview
The energy of the Sour Sop Riddim started in the studio, where the team wanted to create a true party backdrop. SMOKESHOP STUDIOZ, known for producing catchy dancehall rhythms, led the project. This studio has made a mark in the dancehall scene, working with several rising and established artists, and is respected for its focus on vocal harmonies and fresh sound. Each artist brought their own style to the riddim. Alkaline, one of dancehall’s most recognized voices, delivered “Not A Slack Song.” By 2014, Alkaline had already gained attention for hits like “Move Mountains” and was known for his bold lyrics and unique image. Navino followed with “Nah Go Talk,” bringing his smooth delivery and strong presence. Navino is well known for his collaborations with Aidonia and his work with the J.O.P crew. Faze added energy with “Mash Up Mi Life,” a song that quickly became a favorite at parties. Elgoba and Tiffanie Malvo teamed up for “Proud Of Myself,” blending their voices for a memorable track. Tiffanie Malvo is the daughter of Tony Tuff and has worked on several reggae and dancehall projects, showing her roots in the music business. Blistas kept the vibe going with “More Gyal,” a tune that got people dancing wherever it played. Each artist helped make the Sour Sop Riddim a standout in 2014. For dancehall fans, this yard session tape is a reminder of the parties and moments that defined that year.
