In 2013, a reggae project called Songbird Riddim gave a new voice to young and rising singers in the genre. The sound behind this set was shaped by the production team ZION I KINGS, a group known for their deep roots in modern reggae. ZION I KINGS is a collaboration between producers from three respected labels: Zion High Productions, I Grade Records, and Lustre Kings. Their work is recognized for its rich, live instrumentals and careful attention to detail in the studio. The recording process for Songbird Riddim focused on organic, live sounds. Musicians used real drums, bass, and guitars, capturing the warmth of classic reggae while keeping the energy fresh. This approach helped each artist bring their message to life. Danny I opened the set with "I Know," delivering thoughtful lyrics over the smooth rhythm. Duane Stephenson, who once found success with his hit "August Town," contributed "Call On Jah Name," adding his soulful voice and songwriting skills. Jahdan Blakkamoore, known for blending reggae with hip hop, performed "Best In Life," bringing a modern edge to the project. Lutan Fyah, respected for tracks like "St. Jago De La Vega," sang "She's Got Soul," showing his strong roots style. Misael offered "The Power Of Love," adding a heartfelt touch to the collection. Each artist shaped the riddim with their own unique style, making the project stand out. Even years later, Songbird Riddim remains a key part of reggae history from 2013, remembered for its powerful performances and classic sound.
