Sneak Up Overview
In 2013, dancehall in Jamaica was full of energy and excitement. Parties and street dances were happening everywhere, and new riddims were coming out almost every week. The Sneak Up Riddim arrived right in the middle of this busy time, and it quickly became a favorite for DJs and fans. The producer behind the riddim was FREE WILLY RECORDS, a label known for bringing fresh sounds to the dancehall scene. FREE WILLY RECORDS had already made a name for itself with other popular releases, and the Sneak Up Riddim showed their skill in making catchy, dance-ready beats. The label’s work helped shape the sound of dancehall during the 2010s, making them important players in the genre. On the Sneak Up Riddim, some of the biggest names in dancehall came together. Beenie Man delivered “Bad To Di Bone,” showing why he’s called the “King of the Dancehall.” Beenie Man is famous worldwide and won a Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album in 2001. Elephant Man teamed up with Serani for “Oh Baby.” Serani is well known for his hit “No Games,” which reached the Billboard charts in the US. Liquid brought his track “Nuh Argument,” while Vegas Ft. Famous dropped “What A Joy.” Vegas is known for his hit “Heads High,” a song that became an anthem in the late 1990s. Famous also appeared solo on “What A Joy,” and New Kidz added “Guh Deh Gal” to the mix. Looking back, the Sneak Up Riddim was more than just music—it captured the lively, creative spirit of dancehall in 2013. It brought together top artists and a top producer, leaving a mark on the culture that year.
