Slow Motion Riddim (2014) – Rockstone Media

Rockstone Media took a more laid-back turn here, cutting a smooth, mid-tempo dancehall riddim that leaves room for melody instead of crowding the mix with pure force. Released on December 16, 2014, the set is a tight four-track package, and the most eye-catching cut is still the Serani and Ce’Cile pairing on “Slow Motion, ” a slick ladies tune that sits right in the pocket. Deep Jahi’s “Feeling High” adds a ganja-laced counterpoint, while Tiyarro’s “Weh We Want (Dream)” brings a more conscious edge and gets the clean/raw treatment too. The structure tells you Rockstone were thinking like a producer with a promoter’s ear: one instrumental, then the vocal versions split out clearly, with the riddim itself sequenced to let each song hang back and settle into the groove.
