Slayed Riddim – 3r40 Records

Moving through six cuts and seven voices, Slayed Riddim keeps the focus on a tight 2019 dancehall set from 3R40 Records, with Sikka Rymes’ “Wise Girls” and Anga Blax’s “War Vibration” giving the riddim some of its sharpest moments. Lahba and Equaliza’s “Hard Fuck” and Majah Bless’s “Not My Eyes” sit right in that same lane, riding a compact, no-frills pattern that leaves plenty of room for the vocals to cut through while still keeping the pressure on. Markkel Fletcher’s “Buff” and Specialist’s “Still A Live” round out the project, which runs just six tracks and comes in at about 17 minutes, a brisk little dancehall package with no wasted movement.
