Overcast Riddim (2018) – 3r40 Records

Under grey-toned dancehall pressure, Overcast Riddim keeps the mood tight and unfussy, with seven cuts from 3R40 Records lining up around sharp, everyday street talk. Careba turns up twice with “Done My Way” and the Labba-assisted “Love Games, ” while Potential Kidd’s “Friend A Kill Friend” and Sj Peanut’s “She Keep Me Clean” push the tougher end of the set. Vaun Ross closes things out with “Hate My Life, ” a title that fits the riddim’s cold, wary feel, and the whole thing runs lean enough that the instrumental wouldn’t need much dressing to carry the same tension on its own.
