Slanbella Riddim – Notice Records

Kantana’s “Money” is the one that gives Slanbella Riddim its first real pull, with a tight, streetwise cut that sets the tone for this lean 2010 Notice Records production. With only two songs on the set, there’s no excess here: Zero’s “Neva Gonna Stop” keeps the energy moving in a more determined lane, so the whole thing plays like a quick two-step between ambition and persistence. That sparseness actually works in its favour, because the riddim leaves plenty of room for the vocals to carry the weight rather than crowding them. Kantana comes back as the sharper presence, and “Money” is the tune that hangs on longest after the last note.
