Skype Riddim – Fox Fuse

With twelve artists across fourteen cuts, Skype Riddim feels like one of those Fox Fuse soca sets that keeps the focus on the groove first and the names second. The rhythm has that bright, springy early-2010s bounce, but there’s enough low-end weight under it to keep the vocals punching through, especially on Alozade’s “Party and Play” and G Starr’s pair of cuts, “Big And Nasty” and “Dugu Dugu. ” D Natural’s “Hot Gyal” and Dj Future’s “We Ready” lean harder into the party angle, while the title track gets a bonus slot before the instrumental turns up as the final cut, which gives the whole project a neat, DJ-friendly finish.
