@Sign Riddim (2016) – Glendevon Records

With just two artists across four cuts, @Sign Riddim plays like a tight little Glendevon Records showcase rather than a crowded dancehall package. Kalado handles “Real Needs” twice, with raw and clean versions, while Smoodface does the same on “Love Memory, ” and that spare setup keeps the focus on the riddim itself. The production has a crisp, mid-tempo modern dancehall feel, the kind that leaves room for the vocals to ride without crowding the pocket, and the clean/raw split suggests it was pitched for both radio and sound system use. “Love Memory” sits around 85 BPM, which gives the project a measured, rolling pace instead of a rush, and the bass line does most of the heavy lifting underneath the singjay phrasing.
