Sliding into a gospel-conscious corner of roots reggae, Zigedub Productions’ Set Apart Riddim gathers nine cuts around a clean, steady one-drop pulse and a devotional mood that leaves plenty of room for the singers. Peter Spence’s “Born Again” and Jah Device’s title track give the project its clearest spiritual frame, while Steve Santana’s “Father Bless Me” and Publik Report’s “Godspeed” keep the message direct and grounded. The lineup also spreads out nicely with Dantoniothegreat, Jay Alex Bigby, Martini Special, Troy Anthony, and Young Israelites each taking a turn over the same framework, so the riddim itself has to carry the weight. It does, with warm bass pressure, bright guitar skank, and an unhurried tempo that lets the vocals sit right on top without crowding the groove.
