Samba Overview

In 2014, dancehall was full of energy and new sounds. The Samba Riddim, produced by Ancient Records, became one of the most talked-about riddims of that year. Ancient Records is a well-known label in Jamaica, famous for working with top dancehall artists and shaping the sound of modern dancehall. Aidonia, a leading voice in dancehall, brought sharp lyrics and energy to the track "Coco Powda." Aidonia is known for hits like "Yeah Yeah" and has a strong fan base in Jamaica and abroad. Deablo, another key artist from Ancient Records, delivered "Suh Mi Do Mi Ting," showing his unique style and flow. Jayds, with "Gyalis From Birth," added a smooth touch to the riddim. Jayds is part of the 4th Genna camp, working closely with other Ancient Records artists. Laden’s "Wine Likkle Miss" brought a catchy vibe. Laden is known for his song "Time To Shine," which reached the top of Jamaican charts in 2008. The riddim also featured the instrumental "Samba Riddim Version" by Ancient Records, letting the beats shine. Other tracks included "So Mean" by Nicko Blast, "Samba Inna Mi Yaad" by Patience, and "Parasite" by Shokryme.
