Saga Riddim is a 2023 Dub-Stuy Records release produced by Von D, with Chukki Starr, Chezidek and Jah Mason handling the vocal cuts over a rootsy digital dub foundation. The four-track set keeps the focus tight, pairing Chukki Starr’s Mr. Fighter with Chezidek’s Blind Love and Jah Mason’s The Motive, then closing with the Saga Riddim Horns Mix. It leans into a conscious early-2000s dancehall feel while adding horn-led detail and a heavier dub edge, which gives the project a slightly different shape from a straight vocal riddim. Dub-Stuy, the Brooklyn-based label behind it, has long worked in contemporary dub sounds, and Von D’s production here follows that approach with clean mixes and a sound built for sound system play.
