Iyara’s “Gal Ago Ahead” gives the Rose Riddim its first real push, and it does so with a clipped, hard-nosed dancehall chat that sits neatly on Richie Royal Productions’ 2018 seven-track set. The lineup keeps the energy moving: Mr Chups and Ganggoolie come in with sharper streetwise flexes, Tarnado and Fire Dyce lean into the rougher side of the rhythm, and the Camalla Latouche/Fadda Bookie pairing adds a little extra texture in the middle of the sequence. At just seven cuts and under 20 minutes, the project stays tight, with each voice riding the same compact groove rather than stretching the pattern thin. It lands in that late-2010s stretch where crisp, DJ-friendly riddims were built to move fast and keep selectors happy, and Rose does exactly that with its brisk, no-frills pulse.
