Robbery Riddim – Cj Records

Robbery rides a tight little five-cut dancehall pattern with a grim, clipped edge that suits 2003 CJ Records down to the ground. Anthony B’s “Busy” sets the pace early, but it’s Buju Banton’s “Neva Know” that links most cleanly with the rhythm’s tense, streetwise swing, while Sizzla’s “Bubbling Hot” pushes it into a brighter, more urgent gear. Ward 21 and Zumjay keep the energy rough and playful on “Mad Doggs, ” which gives the whole set a sharper crew feel than your average one-riddim drop. CJ Records was already working that hard-nosed early-2000s dancehall lane, and this one sits neatly among those lean, hook-heavy productions; the version cut is there too, tucked right in the middle.
