Road Code Riddim – Grasspiece

Road Code Riddim came out of GrassPiece in 2015 as a lean, five-song dancehall set with a very straight-to-the-point feel: no sprawling cast, just Yami Bolo, Patexx, Peter Sancho and Garrison Hawk riding one 74-BPM groove with a version cut closing it out. The tempo sits in that mid-speed pocket where the drums can breathe, which leaves room for Yami Bolo’s “Cease Fire” to lean into its message, while Patexx and Peter Sancho keep things more street-level and clipped. Garrison Hawk’s “Road Code” feels like the anchor here, a title track that locks in the project’s harder edge before GrassPiece signs off with the instrumental version. It’s a small riddim, but the sequencing gives it a nice arc, and Hawk’s cut leaves the final sting.
