The Mama-Koka riddim rides on a crisp, mid-tempo dancehall pulse with just enough bounce to keep the songs moving without ever getting too glossy. Kwashawna Records lined up seven cuts in 2015, and the cast leans into that hard-edged Gaza-era energy: Vybz Kartel’s “Everybody” sets the pace, Shawn Storm brings the title track, and Masicka keeps the pressure on with “We Nuh Play. ” Jahvillani’s “Money” adds a sharper, greed-and-grind angle to the set, while Gage and Gaza Tussan keep the talk tough and direct. It’s a compact compilation, but the sequencing leaves room for the standout moment to land properly, and that comes with Kartel’s opener, which gives the riddim its clearest hook before Shawn Storm’s “Mama Koka” takes the spotlight.
