RKS Riddim comes in lean and hard, with Noku Music Group keeping the whole thing tight across five cuts in under 17 minutes. Cherry B opens with “Rudo Chairo, ” then Chiky Dee’s “No, ” Furiousy’s “Nekushata, ” Sir Preacher’s “Ndinorumbidza, ” and Twinlion Chief’s “Ndega” each push the rhythm through a different angle, but the overall feel stays firmly in that rugged dancehall pocket. The verses ride a steady, uncluttered backdrop, which lets the voices do the heavy lifting instead of crowding the beat with extra flash. Furiousy and Sir Preacher bring some of the sharper turns here, though Twinlion Chief’s “Ndega” leaves the deepest mark, closing the set with the most forceful read on the riddim.
