2019 was one of those years when dancehall riddims kept leaning hard into lean, punchy arrangements, and New Day Music Group’s Rival 7×7 fits that mood with a tight set built around straight-to-the-point songs and a little spiritual edge. Sizzla’s “Put Jah Above You” brings the conscious energy right out the gate, while Munga Honorable’s “Rise Again” keeps that same uplift with a rougher, more street-level tone.
