Rise Up Riddim – (2009)

Rise Up Riddim sits in that late-2000s dancehall pocket where the arrangement does a lot of the talking: a stark, militant pulse with tight drums, a dragging bass line, and just enough space for the deejays to ride the groove without crowding it. The cut is anchored by Vybz Kartel’s “The System, ” with Gappy Ranks’ “Out The Ghetto” and Wiley’s title track giving the set a sharper edge, while Popcorn’s “You Good” keeps the mood moving with a lighter vocal turn.
