Reggae’s Gone Country Riddim, produced by VP Records, leans into a country-music crossover vibe while still keeping it rooted in reggae and dancehall-friendly melodies. By 2011, the concept had attracted major names like Busy Signal on The Gambler and Etana with Crazy, with the same classic-country choices echoed across the riddim’s performances. The track list moves through big cover moments such as Beres Hammond’s He Stopped Loving Her Today and Freddie Mcgregor’s King Of The Road, plus Etana’s Patsy Cline take, and the lineup also features Tarrus Riley’s The Chair. VP Records spearheaded the project with a Nashville connection, co-producing the album alongside Dean Fraser and John Rich.
