Red Alert Overview
In 2022, reggae’s classic rocksteady flow found new life with the Red Alert Riddim compilation. The riddim’s smooth, rolling basslines and steady drum patterns created a warm, danceable mood, true to reggae’s roots while feeling fresh for a new generation. Each artist brought their own style, blending seamlessly into the riddim’s timeless groove. Ilements stood out with “Trod It Alone,” showing his soulful delivery and thoughtful lyrics. Lutan Fyah, known for his hit “Stalk a Sensimelia” and a strong catalog of conscious reggae, added depth with “Male Man.” Leego’s “Red Alert” brought energy and urgency, highlighting the riddim’s dynamic spirit. The compilation also featured Uman with “Force à nous,” bringing a powerful message, and Makon with “N - Wild Wild West,” adding a unique touch. Kalihi’s “Heavy Smoker” rounded out the collection, giving listeners a full range of reggae expression. Together, Ilements, Lutan Fyah, and Kalihi joined forces for “Red Alert Riddim,” uniting their voices under one sound. The dub engineering on this project gave each track a crisp, polished finish, while the label behind it, Evidence Music, continued its tradition of quality reggae releases. Evidence Music, based in Switzerland, is known for working with both established and rising reggae talents, and has helped bring reggae to new audiences worldwide.
