Rebeldes Riddim – Costa Rebel Studio

Costa Rebel Studio’s Rebeldes Riddim leans more into a rootsy, song-driven session than the harder-edged dancehall work the name might suggest, with seven cuts that keep the groove warm and steady instead of overloading it. China B’s “Si Me Dan El Mic” comes out early with a straightforward chant-like pull, while Mike Joseph’s “Revolución” and Ras Manuel’s “Al Mal Tiempo Buena Cara” give the set its clearest lyrical lift, the latter sitting nicely on the upbeat, guitar-led pulse. Jahricio and Pipo Ti keep the Spanish-language focus tight, and Talawa Reggae Army’s “En Cartago” closes things out with a local touch that ties the whole project back to Costa Rica. Costa Rebel’s own instrumental version sits in the middle of the sequence, and it frames the riddim as a compact, melodic one-drop built for message tunes rather than big studio fireworks.
