RAM JAM RIDDIM produced by SILLY WALKS DISCOTHEQUE 2015
Ram Jam Overview
In 2015, the reggae scene welcomed a special release featuring some of the genre’s most respected artists. Shaggy, known worldwide for his hit “It Wasn’t Me,” brought his unique style to the song “Don’t Stop.” Clay added his smooth voice to “Love And Be Loved.” Chronixx, who has helped bring roots reggae to a new generation, performed “Play Some Roots.” Sara Lugo teamed up with Protoje, an artist famous for his album “Ancient Future,” on the track “Really Like You.” LUST, a vocal group known for their harmonies, delivered “She’s Pretty Like.” Other artists also joined the project. Exco Levi sang “Hello Mama,” RC performed “Can’t Bridge My Defense,” Ras Demo brought “Watch The Things,” and Dalton Harris, who later won The X Factor UK in 2018, sang “Watch Over Me.” The music was built on a classic one drop base, a rhythm that is the heart of roots reggae. The producer behind this release, SILLY WALKS DISCOTHEQUE, is a German sound system and production team active since the early 1990s. They are known for their work with reggae and dancehall artists around the world and have released several well-loved riddims. This 2015 release stands out for carrying the roots reggae vibe into the modern era. The artists and producer worked together to create a sound that honors the past while staying fresh. Even years later, these songs are remembered as an important part of reggae history from that year.
