Rain Forest Riddim – Jukeboxx Productions

Rain Forest Riddim keeps things tight with just five cuts, and that compact lineup gives Jukeboxx Productions room to let each artist land clean. Lady Saw’s “Get Over It” brings the sharp, no-nonsense edge you’d expect from her, while Mavado’s “Til She Bawl” and Sizzla’s “U De Boss” push the set into that hard 2009 dancehall pocket where melody and menace sit right beside each other. There’s a nice contrast with Voicemail’s “Get Them Wet, ” which lightens the mood without breaking the rhythm, and Munga’s “Change Position” fills out the sequence with the kind of mid-era dancehall energy Jukeboxx was leaning into around that time. It’s a slim riddim, but that’s part of the appeal: no filler, just a concise stamp on the producer’s 2009 catalogue.
