Maximum Sound’s Frenchie keeps proving that he knows how to pull a dancehall juggling together without overloading it. Quick Move Riddim arrived in 2021 as a digital dancehall set with a brisk 100 BPM feel, and it sits comfortably in the producer’s long-running catalogue of sound-system-minded projects. Frenchie, the Paris-born, London-based force behind Maximum Sound, has spent decades moving between veteran voices and newer names, and this release follows that template with clean packaging and a street-ready pulse.

Busy Signal opens with Quick Move, and Christopher Martin’s Large brings a smoother, singjay contrast to the same sharp-edged framework. Mr. Vegas comes in with Bun It Down, adding the kind of veteran patter and confidence that has kept him central to dancehall across the years. Lisa Mercedez gets two versions of Paranoid, The Kemist does the same with Self Defence, and Lia Caribe and Renee 6: 30 each add their own cuts with Dm and Bruk Life. That clean and raw split across several songs gives the riddim extra weight and lets the vocal attitude change the shape of the tune without changing the foundation.
