Niakiru Music’s Push Start Riddim doesn’t lean into the sleek, modern dancehall sound that later shared the same name; this 2011 reggae cut feels more like a roots-minded showcase, with seven voicings moving across one steady groove. Swade’s “Faith In Me” is the one that jumps out most, while Teflon, Singer Jah and Ras Pre Dem keep the energy focused on struggle, faith and survival rather than party talk. The production has that unfussy, guitar-and-bass drive that leaves plenty of room for the singers to work, and the title track from Strappa sits neatly at the center of it all.
