Puma Riddim – Offshore Records

Offshore keeps the Puma Riddim lean and punchy here, more streetwise than glossy, with a tight 2019 dancehall cut that leans on a skippy bounce and hard-edged bass rather than any big crossover polish. The strongest voices in the bunch are Lutan Fyah on “So Special, ” Vybrid’s rougher turn on “Gyal Criminal, ” and Star Face with “Bout It, ” which sets the tone early with a direct, no-nonsense attack. Jiggy X Offshore’s “On Me” sits right in the middle of the set, and the instrumental has enough pressure in it to let each singer carve out their own pocket without the rhythm ever losing shape. It’s a short seven-track run, but the last stretch keeps the energy up through Ron Jon Jovi’s “Work” and leaves the riddim circling back to its stripped, club-ready core.
