The strongest cuts here are the direct, plainspoken ones — Jah Banton on “Know Yourself, ” Lightning on “Chant Meh Psalm, ” and Fire Holder’s “Kneel and Pray” — while Jah Shock and Jah Shumba push the message into harder-edged territory. There’s also a neat little sense of range in the lineup, with voices like Daddy Bumpy, Daniel Bless, and Purity giving the riddim different shades without breaking its rootsy spine.
