Protest Overview
The Protest Riddim reggae project was released by the label Jah Youth Productions in 2007. This roots reggae compilation became a favorite in roots sessions and cultural sets that year, thanks to its classic sound and strong lineup of artists. Anthony B, known for his hit single "Fire Pon Rome" and his album "Universal Struggle," brings energy to the project with "Rome Blazin." Daniel Bless adds his voice to the riddim with the song "Not Leavin," while Determine, who has worked with Sizzla and is recognized for his rapid-fire delivery, appears with "Pass Dem." Everton Blender, an artist famous for the song "Lift Up Your Head" and his album "Piece of the Blender: The Singles," delivers "Rasta Imposta." Gounzman is also featured, contributing the track "O Lady." The dub engineer for this project is known for his crisp mixes and rootsy style, helping to keep the sound clean and powerful throughout the compilation. At the center of the project is producer VARIOUS ARTISTS. This producer is known for shaping roots revival sounds and has a history of working with both new and established reggae acts.
