Promised Land Riddim – Xterminator

Promised Land Riddim was produced by Xterminator in 1991 and pulls together a tight early-90s roots set with Glen Ricks, Luciano, Phillip Burrell, and Tiger. Luciano’s Raggamuffin is the best-known cut here, while Tiger’s Tom The Peeper and Glen Ricks’ How Can I Forget help give the rhythm its depth. The Xterminator name, tied to Philip Fatis Burrell, was already becoming a serious force in conscious reggae around this time, and this release shows that careful, vocal-driven approach with a smooth instrumental version in the mix.
