Promise Riddim (2014) – R4l Records

Eight voiceloud voices cut across the Promise Riddim, giving the set a busy, militant dancehall feel with titles like “Zimusoja, ” “Zvashoker Vanhu, ” and “Zvichingobuda” hinting at the local flavour running through it. R4L Records produced the 2014 juggling, and the sequence moves from Scorpion Mafia’s “Goodbye” through Spraggah T, Trevaz W, Kid Maax, Sprinta, Spragga, Skippaz and Ally Nice before landing on the version. It’s a neat bit of ordering too: the early cuts lean into tougher, more declarative chants, then the final stretch keeps the momentum tight, ending with the instrumental so the riddim itself gets the last word.
