Possible Tragedy Riddim – Kemicx Entertainment

Possible Tragedy Riddim leans on a tense, clipped dancehall pulse that never feels overworked. Kemicx Entertainment kept it to four cuts in 2015, and that small frame lets the personalities come through fast: Vision’s “Mi No Care” has the kind of hard-edged confidence that sits neatly against Vitchous’ sharper “Hater, ” while Dinero Rage’s “Gyal Dem Mi Love” loosens the grip a little with a more flirtatious turn. There’s a nice push-and-pull between the producer’s spare arrangement and the artists’ different attitudes, which is probably why the title track lands with a slightly darker mood than the others. A compact little set, really, and the instrumental closes the thing out with that uneasy aftertaste.
