Low-slung and a little sly, Poser Riddim has that lean 2011 dancehall snap, with just four cuts keeping the whole thing tight and unhurried. Catalyst Entertainment Group leaves plenty of space in the groove, and that space suits Queen Kamarla’s “Too Young Fi Me” especially well; her voice rides the riddim with a mix of attitude and vulnerability, while X Caliba pushes it in a more devotional direction on “Jah Is Watching Over Me. ” The joint turn from Queen Kamarla Astro and X Caliba on “How You Bubble So” gives the set its most playful moment, and Richie 5’s “Tired A Poor Life” grounds it with a harder-working, more rueful note. Small package, sharp edges.
