PERSISTENCE RIDDIM produced by RIGHTEOUS PRODUZ & PEDRO E.A 2014
Persistence Overview
In 2014, reggae fans found a new favorite with the foundation rhythm behind the Persistence Riddim. This rhythm became a key sound for roots reggae that year. It stood out from other roots collections of the time, which often focused on digital production. Instead, this rhythm brought back a more organic, street-inspired vibe. The Persistence Riddim featured several strong tracks. Black Style And Blede delivered “Illamame,” a tune with powerful energy. I Strongah’s “Un Día Como Hoy” added heartfelt lyrics. Jahrisio, known for his hit “Jahmaica,” brought his conscious style to “Live With Love.” These artists helped the rhythm stand out among roots anthologies from 2014, which sometimes leaned more towards pop or dancehall influences. Mike J Feat Keijah joined the project with “Persistent,” while Keijah - Persistent performed “Persistent” as a solo. Keijah is recognized for his collaborations in the reggae scene. Other artists on the riddim include Mr Choma with “Por Un Momento De Placer,” Pana King with “Quieres Rendirte,” and Stg Remo with “The Change.” Behind the scenes, producers RIGHTEOUS PRODUZ and PEDRO E.A shaped the sound. RIGHTEOUS PRODUZ is known for working with rising reggae talents and has a reputation for high-quality, roots-heavy productions. Together, they gave the Persistence Riddim a lasting spirit. Even years later, this foundation rhythm still captures the true feeling of reggae in 2014.
