Straight out of the 2004 Trinidad soca-dancehall circuit, Patriot Riddim catches that moment when carnival energy and hard-edged chat were living in the same space. The six-cut set keeps things lively without overcomplicating it, and the most memorable pairing is Tallpree and Benjai on “Give Her, ” where the two voices ride the riddim with a sharper, cheekier bounce than the rest. Gailann’s “Street Controversy” and Ninja’s “Down Here” keep the project rooted in party talk and street-level bravado, while Sean Caruth’s “Start It” pushes the tempo with a lean, direct hook. It’s a compact slice of early-2000s regional dance music, with just enough bite in the arrangement to make the whole thing feel like a road march carry-over, plus that one duet at the end.
