Cantstop Records kept Party Drama Riddim tight and lively in 2018, leaning into a jab-heavy soca feel that’s all about carnival pressure and road energy rather than polish for polish’s sake. The strongest pull here is the pairing of Lavaman and Jab King on “Grenada (Da Iz Mas), ” which gives the riddim a real regional stamp, while Anthony KD’s “Mudda Neck” and Prezi’s “Watch Mas” push the same propulsive groove in different directions.
